Abstract

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF RAMADAN ON OUR HEALTH?

Being healthy and active is a continuous process, including during fasting month. It will help prevent diseases and enable bet- ter control of current diseases. Fasting is beneficial to health if it is performed in a right manner.
In some Middle Eastern countries, Ram- adan is associated with increased incidence of chronic diseases such as diabetes, dis- eases of the gastrointestinal tract and road traffic accidents. In addition, obesity rates also increase after the fasting month in some countries.
