Abstract
MALAYSIA Is connected by more than 120,000km of roads, of which 18,5 77km are federal roads and the rest state or municipal roads.
The government allocated about RM732 million in 2008 and RM545 million last year for the maintenance of federal roads.
With rapid development and an increase in the number of motorised vehicles, the budget allocation is expected to go up, too. However, the allocation for the maintenance works is not growing in tandem with the number of roads.
