Abstract
DUNGUN: The Youth and Sports Ministry is in the final stage of preparation for implementation of the Football Development Plan 2014-2020.
Its minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the development plan was aimed at reviving the glory of Malaysian football.
“To create excel lence and brilliance in the sport is not easy.
“That is why the programme involves the young aged seven to 18 as we chose to start from the grassroots and we are now in the final stage to implement the development plan.
“The programme will unearth young talents to qualify for the Football Junior World Cup 2019,” he told a news conference after closing the Universiti Institut Teknologi Mara ( UiTM) Sports Carnival ( KARISMA) 2013, here, yesterday.
Khairy said the Footbal l Development Plan 2014-2020 would be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in December.
He said the ministry would also be introducing a new programme called Fit Malaysia next year.
