Abstract
KOTA SAMARAHAN: The first batch of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Halal Management Diploma students received their scrolls during the graduation at its campus here yesterday.
The 29 graduates undertook the course in 2014, which marked UiTM as the country’s first public institution of higher learning (IPT) that provided a diploma programme on halal management – a qualification accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency in June last year.
It was also internationally recognised with the ‘Outstanding Islamic Qualification Award’ during the Global Islamic Finance Awards in Dubai in 2015, followed by the ‘Pioneer in Philanthropic Programmes in the Higher Education Institution Award’ under the same award programme in Kazakhstan this year.
