Abstract
KUCHING (March 1): The Inspirasi Penyayang: Art for Humanity 2025 exhibition exemplifies cultural diplomacy, serving as a platform for academic and artistic exchange between Malaysia and Indonesia.
Organised by the College of Creative Arts at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak Branch in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, UiTM Puncak Alam, the exhibition is being held at the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta from today until March 24.
Led by esteemed UiTM lecturers Dr Muhamad Hafiz Hassan and Sumardianshah Silah, the initiative underscores the university’s commitment to international engagement and cultural understanding, aligning with the Asean Sustainable Community Development (ASCD) 2025 programme.
“The exhibition stands as a remarkable showcase of artistic talent, featuring 25 meticulously crafted artworks created by talented UiTM students, complemented by contributions from experienced lecturers.
“These artworks delve into profound themes of cultural heritage and human connection, presenting a nuanced exploration of shared experiences and collective wisdom.
“The exhibition transcends traditional artistic boundaries, transforming into a powerful diplomatic gesture as all exhibited pieces will be donated to the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta,” Muhamad Hafiz said in a statement today.
Sumardianshah highlighted the broader significance of the initiative, describing it as more than just an art display.
“This initiative represents a strategic platform for strengthening bilateral relations, offering an unprecedented opportunity for academic staff and students to showcase their creativity on an international stage,” he said.
He further emphasised that the project aligns with UiTM’s vision of becoming a Globally Recognised University by 2025 (GRU2025) while simultaneously enhancing Sarawak’s presence in the international academic and cultural landscape.
The exhibition was officially launched by Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Datuk Syed Mohamad Hasrin Tengku Hussin, alongside Education Malaysia Indonesia director, Dr Hasnul Faizal Hushin Amri.
