Abstract
SHAH ALAM, Tues. Science, Technology and Environment Minister Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui will open a two-day symposium on Microbiology in the Development of Malaysia at the Mara Institute of Technology here beginning from Thursday.
ITM director Datuk Prof. Awang Had Salleh, told a Press conference today the symposium was to provide a forum emphasising the role of microbiology in the development of the country.
Twenty-one scientific papers covering various fields microbiology will be presented at the symposium to be attended by participants from Indonesia, India, Singapore and Australia.
Datuk Prof. Awang said a management accountancy symposium with theme Management the Accounting in Malaysia: Present and Future would also be held at the ITM on Oct. 17 and 18. He said participation was opened to the public, and enquiries could be directed to ITM'S School of Accountancy, which was sponsoring the symposium.
