Abstract

The response of hoteliers and restaurant owners to employing trained people is just not good enough, the Director of the Mara Institute of Technology, Encik Arshad Ayob, said today. For example, although the number of hotel rooms has risen from 2,173 in 1966 to almost 12,999 now, Mara' first two batches of diploma graduates in the School of Hotel and Catering Management have found some difficulty in getting absorbed in the industry, he said. Encik Arshad was speaking at the graduation ceremony of 155 students who received their certificates from Mara School of Hotel and Catering Management here today.
