Hassan makes good in a world of his own design

There is a growing sophistication in the Malay publishing world these days and it has to do with the more graphic aspects of book production. There is a definite breakthrough in terms of presentation. Malay language novels, magazines and periodicals are so much more attractive these day compared with those in the 50s and 60s. The relisation that a good cover and attractive layout can do so much enhance a book's reception has in fact resulted in many Malay language writers and poets becoming fussy about the more graphic aspects of their works, and this is a good thing.
