Abstract
KUCHING: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak’s Samarahan 2 Campus is being transformed into a smart campus in line with the 4th Industrial Revolution.UiTM Sarawak rector Prof Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali said the transformation includes the setting up of a Big Data Lab and smart classroom settings equipped with high-tech audio and visual and high speed internet connectivity. “It is crucial for a university like UiTM to be prepared, especially in infrastructural improvement and curriculum development to equip graduates with the necessary skill in keeping abreast with current industrial development. As part of its initiatives, UiTM Sarawak has ongoing plans in transforming its Samarahan 2 Campus into a smart campus,” he said in his speech read by deputy rector for Academic Affairs Prof Dr Rosita Suhaimi at the UiTM Sarawak public lecture entitled ‘Challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution on Malaysian Higher Education’ at its Jubilee Hall yesterday.
