Abstract
Ahli falsafah Perancis, Gilles Deleuze (1925-1995) pernah menggemparkan dunia akademik film studies apabila muncul dengan dua buah buku tentang sinema: Cinema I: The Movement Image (1977, 1987) dan Cinema 2: The Time-Image (1986, 1989). Deleuze adalah antara pemikir abad ke-20 yang paling mendapat perhatian dalam dunia akademik Anglo-Amerika, terutama penulisan provokatif beliau bersama Felix Guattari seperti Anti-Oedipus (1972) dan sekuelnya "A Thousand Plateaus (1983).
